Salve

A medicinal salve is a semi-solid, oil-based ointment made from herbs infused in oil and mixed with a thickening agent like beeswax. It is used for topical application to soothe and heal skin issues, and its specific properties depend on the herbs used. To make a salve, dried herbs are infused in a carrier oil, which is then strained and combined with melted beeswax and optional ingredients like shea butter or essential oils.
